Bolinder strand

A small and quiet local crag hidden in the forest just above Fabriksvägen. The area offers short but enjoyable climbing with a mix of beginner-friendly trad and harder routes. The rock is generally solid with vertical climbing, featuring cracks and edges. Despite the urban surroundings, the crag has a secluded atmosphere with good shade during warmer days.

Routes are short but can be worthwhile for a quick evening session or beginner trad practise. Landings are uneven in places, and vegetation can be dense during summer.

Access is easiest from the parking area along Fabriksvägen followed by a short walk a few meters into the forest. A beach and restaurants are available in the area within a close walk. Walking distance from the train and bus station is about 10 minutes.

Bolinder Strand, located along the shoreline of Lake Mälaren in Järfälla, was originally developed around the industrial activities of the Bolinder company, one of Sweden’s most important engineering manufacturers during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The area takes its name from the Bolinder family and the factory operations that once dominated the nearby Kallhäll waterfront.
