Located next to the Sierra de Toix and as a great alternative to its popular and sunny sectors, Castellet de Calp offers 40 climbing routes where you will enjoy a very calm environment, shade almost all day and a wide range of difficulties between the sixth and, above all, the seventh grade. Located under the ruins of this old watchtower from the end of the 16th century, in this area you will find vertical and slightly overhanging routes, with lengths ranging between 13 and 50 meters and a whitish rock with a great variety of crimps, cracks and tufas . Although it has a short approach, an acceptable belaying spot and a low number of visits, the relative peace of this place can be affected by the continuous traffic of vehicles from the N-332 and the AP-7, as well as the Alicante-Denia railway line, all of them running very close to the climbing walls.
Description
History
The clear and indisputable protagonist of this school is the British Richard Davies, who took advantage of his long and numerous visits to the nearby town of Calpe, to discover and develop this area between mid-2007 and early 2010, a period where he bolted the vast majority of the existing lines.
