Fuchsloch

The Fuchsloch is an imposing rock face in a shady forest.
In the morning, a little light filters through the trees onto the left-hand side of the wall, whilst the right-hand side remains in constant shade, making it an ideal summer climbing spot.The climbing is predominantly vertical to slightly overhanging, with crimps and pockets. Wall climbs in the upper 7th grades dominate, supplemented by a few 6b routes, particularly along the cracks and dihedrals. The difficulty of the routes reaches the upper 8th grade with the route ‘Sound of Silence’, established and first ascended by Heiko Queitsch. However, the best-known route on the rock is probably the ‘Red Line’ (9).

The first reported ascents date back to 1932 with H. Alber´s ascent of "Alte Verschneidung". But it took until the 90s and 00s for the majority of the routes do be established with Heiko Queitsch being the most active bolter and first ascentionist.
