Harmio

Access is sensitive!

Harmiokallio is located on Sipilä farmstead in the small village of Aikkala, just over half a kilometer away from more famous Havukallio, in Hollola municipality.

The setting of the crag is quite central in Aikkala, and while Harmio is easily accessed, it is very access sensitive.

There is several detached houses right in front of the crag, the closest less than 100 meters in distance. According to the local norms, terms and practices, the crag is very nearly part of the landowner's yard, as well as those of his neighbors.

Also, there is private commercial smokesauna, run by Hollolan Hirvi restaurant, on the field right in front of the crag, less than 50 meters away.

Right underneath the crag there is a wicket (laavu), as well as a small outhouse. Both of these are privately owned and operated by a local business that offers outdoors services within the area of the crag.

Due to these reasons extra caution is needed while visiting Harmio.

Visitors need to ensure to not cause any disturbance or trouble to the Aikkala residents, nor people bathing in the sauna, using the laavu, or others in the village area.

So, please behave in a respectful and discreet manner.

Use of the laavu or the outhouse is not allowed, and it is strictly forbidden to use the campfire in front of the laavu.

Further, it is forbidden to park vehicles on the entrance to the crag area, or the field in front of it. Parking is not allowed on the driveways of the houses, and the private parking of Hollolan Hirvi restaurant is reserved for the guests of the restaurant only.

As there are no suitable places for parking anywhere on Aikkalantie road either, it is best to park on the established climber's parking of Havukallio crag, some 800 m away from Aikkalantie crossroads towards south-west on road 54 (Riihimäentie) - it only takes about 10-15 minutes to do the walk from Havukallio parking to Harmio crag.
