Cascata di Tret takes its name from the impressive waterfall located just a few minutes from the walls, close to the small village of Tret in Val di Non.
The crag offers a total of 21 routes ranging from 5b to 6c+, making it a great destination for intermediate climbers looking to test their endurance, as the lines are generally long and sustained.
The area is divided into two distinct sectors:
• Sentiero: A grey, mostly vertical wall featuring occasional small bulges. Best routes include Diedrite and Così sia.
• Cascata: A more overhanging sector offering longer pitches on characteristic red rock. Highlight lines include La frontiera nascosta and the intriguing Fessura Vinatzer.
The rock quality is not always perfect, but the wall has been meticulously cleaned by the original developers, who also reinforced some holds. However, wearing a helmet is strongly recommended for safety.
While climbing, you are accompanied by the pleasant, soothing sound of the Novella stream running nearby. After prolonged rain, the rock takes some time to dry.
Sitting at an altitude of over 1,000 meters and facing northwest, this crag is an ideal summer getaway to escape the heat. Although the wall turns toward the sun in the late afternoon, the dense forest surrounding the cliff provides shade for most of the day.
The bolting with expansion bolts (spits) is good and reliable. The base of the sectors features some benches; however, the terrain at the foot of the cliff is somewhat narrow and not ideal for young children, even though the approach is straightforward along a comfortable path.
Beyond climbing, a 1–2 minute walk further down the path brings you directly to the magnificent Tret waterfall. The surrounding Val di Non offers plenty of rest-day activities: explore the nearby Lago Smeraldo and the spectacular Rio Sass Canyon in Fondo, go kayaking through the Novella River gorges, or enjoy the region's famous apple orchards and traditional alpine gastronomy.

Cascata di Tret prende il nome dall’impressionante cascata situata a pochi minuti dalle pareti, nei pressi del piccolo borgo di Tret in Val di Non.
La falesia offre un totale di 21 vie con difficoltà dal 5b al 6c+, rivelandosi un'ottima meta per arrampicatori di livello intermedio che vogliono mettere alla prova la resistenza, dato che le linee sono tendenzialmente lunghe e continue.
L'area si suddivide in due settori distinti:
• Sentiero: Una parete di calcare grigio prevalentemente verticale con qualche piccola pancia. Le vie migliori del settore sono Diedrite e Così sia.
• Cascata: Un settore più strapiombante che offre tiri più lunghi su roccia rossa. Tra le linee più interessanti spiccano La frontiera nascosta e la caratteristica Fessura Vinatzer.
La qualità della roccia non è sempre perfetta, ma la parete è stata pulita minuziosamente dagli apritori, che hanno provveduto anche a consolidare alcuni appigli. Si raccomanda comunque caldamente l’uso del casco per la propria sicurezza.
Durante la scalata si è costantemente accompagnati dal piacevole e rilassante sottofondo del torrente Novella. Dopo lunghi periodi di pioggia i muri impiegano un po' di tempo ad asciugarsi.
Situata a oltre 1.000 metri di altitudine con esposizione nord-ovest, la falesia è ideale in estate per scappare dal caldo. La parete andrebbe al sole nel tardo pomeriggio, ma il fitto bosco a ridosso delle rocce garantisce ombra per gran parte della giornata.
La chiodatura a spit è buona e affidabile. Alla base dei settori sono presenti alcune panchine, anche se la zona di assicurazione è un po' stretta e non del tutto adatta ai bambini piccoli, nonostante l'avvicinamento avvenga su un comodo sentiero.
Oltre all'arrampicata, continuando sul sentiero per ancora 1-2 minuti è possibile ammirare la bellissima cascata di Tret. Nei giorni di riposo, la Val di Non offre splendide opportunità: dai vicini Lago Smeraldo e Canyon Rio Sass a Fondo, alle escursioni in kayak nelle gole del Novella, fino alla scoperta delle famose coltivazioni di mele e della tradizione enogastronomica locale.
